I was deeply inspired by the overwhelming pollution I experienced while living in Hungary in the late 1970s. My environmental concerns date back to this time, but it took me 25 years to find the perfect medium to truly capture the impact of pollution on the world and our role in it. I began photographing industrial objects, embedding them into an epoxy liquid. Once the artwork solidified into a three-dimensional transparent sculpture, I illuminated it from behind to reveal the distortions and the presence of air pollution. My presentation of these three-dimensional sculptures is housed in metal or wooden light boxes, where LED lights enhance their transparency. I consider these illuminated works to be my most significant environmental documentary, offering a visual testament to the persistent and damaging effects of pollution.
